Environmental Education Program

The Keep Charleston Beautiful Education Coordinator and our mascot, Clara The Clean City Pelican, present environmental education programs free of charge to students at local Elementary Schools. Students learn about waste responsibility and the importance of reducing waste, recycling, and not littering. The teacher receives a Clara Story Book, and each student receives an activity book and pencil made from recycled paper, to help reinforce our program messaging. The KCB Education Coordinator also presents Talking Trash to local Middle School students, which acts as the sister program to Clean City Clara Elementary Presentation. Our High School level program is in its pilot stages, but is available for interested High School classrooms as well.
